Street Tree Bed Care: Give Trees a Chance

Hi I weeded around a city-owned tree on my block. I also planted sunflowers and put up a little fence. I verified that the tree is city owned and even have the tag number. However, I do not own the apartment building that it stands in front of. My question: can the landlord who owns the building rip down what I have done?

Thank you for allow our block to participate, we did not raise the soil level in the tree beds. What you see is aging tree roots on top of the trunk. 80-year-old women tend these trees to make sure that nothing rots.

What a wealth of information! This our first time entering the Beautiful Block contest, and because of this information we will be better prepared for the next year. Keep up the good work. THANKS!
